He took on the nickname "Yachty", and moved from Atlanta Georgia to New York in 2015 to pursue his dream of becoming a successful musician. His track "1Night" was Lil Yachty’s breakthrough success. The video of the track was uploaded to YouTube and quickly became a viral hit. The singer was the subject of the media's focus when the SoundCloud version of "One Night" was included in a viral meme.
