Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was born on November 30,
1977, in Miami, Florida. He is an American electro house musician, record
producer, D.J. and music executive. He is the third of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's
kids. His father, a former wrestler, also co-founded the restaurant chain
Benihana. There are two siblings: sister Kana who is frequently known as Grace
because of her middle name Grace and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). The
half-sister of his is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He was raised in Newport
Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor High School with a 1995 B.A. in
badminton. He went on to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He
graduated with two bachelor's degrees: one in feminist Studies and the one in
Sociology. He was a college student who made records on his own and hosted
underground music in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing
Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a concert venue. The owner was also
involved in student protests during his time at UCSB. He created a
Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s Dim
Mak had founded his own record label which he called Dim Mak in honor of his
childhood hero Bruce Lee. The band came out with I'm In the House in March 2010
in collaboration with Zuper Blahq who is the alter-ego of will.i.am from The
Black Eyed Peas. The track hit No. The track was ranked No. 29 on the U.K.
Singles Chart within the first week of its the release. It later entered the
U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K. Indie Chart, being among the top 5 in both
charts. The song was featured on the MTV show Jersey Shore as well as in the
feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. Producer and
songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a interview with HitQuarters, that he and
Rivers Cuomo had recently worked with Aoki on an album. The song was named the
top-grossing North American dance artist by Pollstar in 2012. He has worked
with many artists such as Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park,
Will.i.am. Lil Jon. Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS. Louis Tomlinson. Rise
Against. Vini Vii & Fall Out Boy. He is known for his remixes with
artists like Kid Cudi.
