Zachary Galifianakis

Zachary Knight Galifianakis (Greek pronunciation 01 October 1969) was a famous American actor, comedian musician, writer, and comedian. He was a performer, comedian as well as a host on Late World with Zach (VH1) Galifianakis has appeared in films like The Hangover trilogy (2009-2013), Due Date (2010), The Campaign (2012), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) and Masterminds (2016). He has also voiced characters for animated films like Puss in Boots (2011), The Lego Batman Movie (2017), Missing Link (2019), and Ron's Gone Wrong (2021). Galifianakis currently hosts the Funny or Die website talk show Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. He was the main character in FX's series Baskets. In 2017, he was nominated to the Primetime Emmy Award in Outstanding Lead Actor in the Comedy Series. Zachary Knight Galifianakis, a North Carolina native, was born October 1, 1969 in Wilkesboro. He is the son of Mary Frances (nee Cashion), and Harry Galifianakis, a heating oil retailer. His mother is an English-Irish and Scottish, while his paternal grandparents are Greek immigrants from Crete. He was baptized in accordance with the Greek Orthodox faith of his father. He is the father of Merritt an older sister, and Greg the older brother. The cousin of his is Washington Post cartoonist Nick Galifianakis as well as his uncle, also named Nick Galifianakis, is a politician. Galifianakis attended Wilkes Central High School, and then attended North Carolina State University, where he majored in communications. Galifianakis was employed at a public radio station during his time at college. He taught an waltz class in the year 1991 and he came into contact with Mary J. Blige. Galifianakis was one of the Saturday Night Live host for two weeks following his TV debut in Boston Common. Galifianakis has stated that he worked on Saturday Night Live for two weeks.
