Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a cast member of "Saturday Night Live," before
appearing in such large-screen comedy films as 'Elf' 'Anchorman' and 'Talladega
Nights.' Will Ferrell was born in Irvine in the year 1967. He started his
comedy career as a member the Los Angeles-based group The Groundlings.
Following his famed seven-year stint as a part of Saturday Night Live, he
became one of the film industry's biggest comedic draws through off-color
successes like Old School (2003) and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy
(2004). Ferrell co-founded Funny or Die, a popular video streaming website.
Ferrell also had successes as an actor voiceover in animated movies such as
Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell, born July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California.
Will Ferrell is the oldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell
(and Kay Ferrell), but he wasn't the class clown while he was in University
High School. A quiet and solitary person, Ferrell chose to make his mark on the
football pitch in which he set an academic record for the highest number of
field goals made. Ferrell was a more relaxed person living in suburban homes,
and he didn't display the same kind of funny or outrageous outbursts later to
define his career. In an interview with Esquire the magazine, his mother stated
that Ferrell was "very calm and even-tempered. He was very
easygoing." "You know those little Matchbox cars? Will arrange his
Matchbox cars all by himself and be completely satisfied. You'd say, 'You wanna
go to Disneyland today or set up your cars?' and he'd have to think about the
idea. Ferrell was not a perfect straight man but that's not to suggest he
wasn't. A glimpse of his comedic skills was visible every morning in high
school, as Ferrell disguised his voice in order to announce his daily
activities on the PA system. Ferrell graduated in 1986, and enrolled at the
University of Southern California in Los Angeles. There he joined the Delta Tau
fraternity to pursue the degree of a sports reporter.
