Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. and her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities when she was at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her initial attempt, she came in second place in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. In 2004, Felix achieved her debut Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece and set an unofficial junior world record running 200 meters with a time of 22.18 seconds. As of 2005, she was the youngest World Champion in the 200m at the Helsinki World Championships. She won the title again in 2007 over her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix placed consistently within the top three across her diverse events in the Olympics that took place at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
